“If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room would you trust it?” -Kendrick Lamar
The revolution, the evolution is not going to be found in conference centers or seminars in 5 star hotels. It won’t be definable in righteousness or sanctimony.
The resonances will be and are where the pain has been–where there was no choice but to become unbreakable.
Where the scars are generations deep and sculpt into raw, sassy, funny, sexy, harsh, confusing.
Laser sharp intelligent literacy of metaphors; the messages wont be sterilized in direct instructional language. The (r)evolution is not a Lego set to assemble, it is alive.
The alchemy of change changes as it changes.
The logic of the current systems is not so useful for the task. It leads back to the academy, city hall and the bank. Those are not the places where unbreakable is made.
Look elsewhere.
Genius may be defined as the ability to see what is missing.

Revolution/evolution is like Monty Python’s Spanish Inquisition, nobody expects it even when everybody predicts it. Always, it does come from the blind spot, until, after it is done and everybody says it was inevitable. It is divergent sequence. There’s a paradox, the unpredictable inevitable. Why do snakes and crustaceans shed their skins and shells? To grow. How do they know when it is time? Presumably, when it hurts enough.

Nora Bateson – The revolution of evolution is not planned in the counsels of the “powerful”. Look elsewhere for its womb.

I like this piece quite a bit and would enjoy sharing it with others with whom I have expressed similar sentiments. However, it would be more powerful without the typographical error. “Those are not the places w[h]ere unbreakable is made.” And a hat tip to Alexander Laszlo who unknowingly enabled this connection.
